Philadelphia Intl. Airport is just five miles Southwest of the city center region. The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation System SEPTA operates rail lines between Philadelphia International Airport and Downtown Philadelphia every half hour. Shuttle bus services, limousines and taxis also operate between the airport and Philly. There are rental car agencies at the airport and in town, but driving is not recommended in central Philadelphia because parking can be impossible and tickets are handed out quite efficiently. Getting around in downtown Philly is quite simple and we recommend using the various public transportation offerings to get to the various tourism destinations nearby. Most tourism destinations however are within walking distance of one another.
